Privacy Policy

FRCinsights is an independent, experimental project developed and powered by AI and by FRCinsights. This project is independent and is not affiliated with FIRST, Statbotics, The Blue Alliance, or any official FRC organization.

Everything published on FRCinsights can be read without signing in. Browsing anonymously does not require a name, email address, phone number, home address, school schedule, precise location, or birth date.

You can create a free account to follow teams and events and to use the public API. When you do, the following is stored:
Email address and sign-in credentials, handled by our authentication provider so you can sign in and reset your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile details from Google, not your Google password.
Profile details you choose to enter, such as a display name, avatar image link, and short bio. These are optional and you can clear them at any time.
Your follows, meaning the list of team numbers and event codes you follow so your dashboard can be rebuilt when you sign in.
API keys, stored only as a one-way hash plus a short non-secret prefix and label. We cannot read your full key back to you after it is created, and we log the time a key was last used so you can spot unexpected activity.

Account emails, such as sign-up confirmation and password resets, are sent from our notification domain through an email delivery provider. We keep a delivery log (recipient, template, status, timestamp) to troubleshoot failures and to honour bounces and unsubscribes. We do not send marketing email, and we do not sell or share your address.

FRCinsights does not currently accept user-submitted scouting data. If that changes, this policy will be updated first to describe exactly what is collected and how it is moderated.

Most data shown is public FRC competition data (teams, events, matches, rankings) sourced from The Blue Alliance and, where available, official FIRST data. This is public competition information, not private personal data. FRCinsights keeps this clearly separated from any private user information.

FRCinsights uses only essential storage needed for the interface, for example remembering UI preferences, the page you navigated from, and, if you sign in, your session token. It does not load third-party advertising or cross-site tracking pixels. If non-essential analytics or tracking are introduced, a consent banner and a Cookie Settings control will be added first, and tracking will not run before consent.

The app relies on infrastructure and data providers including the hosting platform, the managed database and authentication provider that stores accounts, the email delivery provider used for account emails, The Blue Alliance API, and AI-assistance tooling used to generate analytics summaries. These providers process only what is needed to operate the service.

Some summaries and ratings are produced by AI-assisted, experimental models. These outputs are estimates and may be wrong, incomplete, or delayed. They are clearly labeled across the site.

Public FRC data is cached only as long as needed to keep pages fast and current. Account data (profile, follows, API keys) is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account. API keys are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to your own rows is enforced at the database level, so one account cannot read another's follows, profile, or keys. Reasonable technical measures protect the service, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

No. FRCinsights does not sell personal information and does not use it for advertising.

You can browse the whole site without an account. If you have one, you can edit or clear your profile, unfollow any team or event, and revoke an API key at any time from your profile page. To export or permanently delete your account and everything attached to it, contact FRCinsights and the request will be actioned. A parent or guardian may request removal of a child's information through the same contact.

Many FRC participants are students. FRCinsights is intended for users 13 or older and avoids collecting unnecessary personal information. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
